The liturgy began with some prayers and then the Gospel was read. It spoke of the apostles and when Jesus cast out some demons. Father Matthew’s homily reflected on his own demons which he has faced since becoming a priest. This week was his anniversary of being ordained to the preisthood, and it was wonderful to hear his reflections and message.
Communion was shared and then Metropolitan Raffaele spoke about the lives of the apostles and their commitment to knowledge and family. It was interesting to hear of Jesus and Joseph’s mastery of their professions, and the different vocations of the various apostles.
The evening concluded with a celebration and shared agape in the vestibules.
