Saturday 3rd December 2022AD
Good Shepherd Chapel, Abbotsford
Bells welcomed the congregation as we prepared to honour the Holy Theotokos this evening. Candles were lit and the clergy vested.
The readings were from the Gospel of St Luke and spoke of the foolish man who planned out his life but passed unexpectedly early. Alleluia was sung, and Metropolitan Raffaele began his homily.
He spoke of St. Anna, the mother of Holy Mother Mary, and her intercession in the lives of three young orphans. He dedicated the following year to her and reminded us to ask for help from the Lord when we need it.
The gifts were brought and blessed, and a special prayer was said for those who are not with us and those who have left in body but not in memory and spirit. Then the clergy took communion together before sharing communion with the congregation.
After some beautiful singing and chanting, Metropolitan Raffaele spoke briefly to thank us and remind us to care for those in the world, before agape snacks were shared out the back.
