Commemorating the Lord’s Supper in which New Sacred Chrism oil was sanctified.

THE DIVINE LITURGY
The evening began with a lovely commemoration of the Last Supper accompanied by a reading from the Gospel by Fr. Matthew. This was followed by a heartfelt homily from Fr. Mark. Then +Raffael washed the feet of the clergy and the hands of the congregation. The sanctification of the new Chrism Oil was beautiful, with the clergy and congregation being anointed with the newly blessed oil before it was combined with the remaining oil from previous years.
This was followed by the Divine Liturgy, a beautifully peaceful rendition of ‘Our Father’ and communion was shared.
Following this, the early morning sorrows were performed, including a reading from the Gospel of St John and the veneration of the Exarchate’s relic of the true cross.

The burial service for Great Friday began with the solemn tolling of the great church bells. After prostrating themselves in front of the cross, +Raffaele and Fr. Mark began the service while Deacon Matthew sensed the altar.

Great and Holy Saturday: Pascha
Commemorating the Lord’s resurrection in the flesh. The service included the reading of the Acts of the Apostles, the proclamation of the resurrection and the lighting of candles, the Divine Liturgy, Paschal Eucharist and Agape.
