Preparations were made and the bells rang out for the beginning of tonight's celebration. Archbishop Raffaele interwove Christmas songs, music and stories of Christ's birth into the liturgical Nativity celebrations. The congregation joined in song at pivotal moments of the liturgy, including the Gospel procession, the Great Entrance, Theotokon and Thanksgiving hymn (sung in Italian and English).
Communion was shared and the icon of the Emmanuel was venerated before we all ventured out the back for a very warm snack.
