The Nativity of the Theotokos.

Many Christians celebrate Christmas, yet ancient Christians also celebrate She who became the first Christian being Mary of Nazareth who heard the Word of God via the Archangel Gabriel, nurtured the Word (Jesus God the Son) in her Womb and tended to him in his infancy. Therefore we celebrate the one who carried God into the world via becoming full of God's Grace. Mariam - whom God called to be his mum today is gifted to her barren parents Joachim and Anna as God's gift to the World whom in turn at the Advent becomes the World's gift to God.

The simple mid week Festal liturgy was celebrated to recall Mother Mary's birth. The Liturgy was presided by metropolitan archbishop Raffaele and assisted by Archdeacon Epiphanios, the two families present were in awe of the ancient traditions whilst their children asked the archbishop about its importance at which the homily became an all time favourite- question and answers. The family of the Church then adjourned for Festal supper panetone and champagne
