WHY
WE ARE
HERE
We are here to convey THE MESSAGE! It dates back 2019 years ago…..the message is: COME AS YOU ARE! It is a message for all people regardless! At the moment of the GREAT INTERVENTION which we call INCARNATION, God did not exclude, but via the very fact that he borrowed bone, flesh, and blood from our Holy Mother Mariam of Nazareth, this in itself is the testament that God came to include all! Hence, this Divine Communion invites all who but will, to come and not merely exist but live life in the fullness of his grace, and peace, in the knowledge of his love that renders the gift of a joyous life well lived!
The young Samuel ministered before the Lord under the presbyter Eli for in those days the Word of the Lord was not heard; there were no signs and wonders. Thus, Eli and Samuel rested before the Ark to which they tended to the lamp of the presence so that it should not burn out…..Eli then realised that the Lord made himself known to Samuel after the various times Samuel thought Eli had called for him . Hence, Eli instructed him saying: “When the Lord calls your name again, reply in these words; Speak Lord for your servant is listening!” (1Sam 3: 1-9) – abbreviated.
Thus, we are here because like the Prophet Samuel, we have heard the Lord’s cry for us to proselytise amongst Australian people in bringing to them the Orthodox Faith – the means of Communion with the Rock who is the source of our life: The All Holy Trinity! Hence, as hospitality is the means of an encounter, we wish to say to our fellow Australians; “Taste and see the Lord who is the source of all Goodness and love!”
Many long for the Divine via untainted means and unlike the heresy (false pretence) of the Gnostics, all have the right to enter into a profound relationship with our God revealed as Father who provides, Son whose life is the very testament of love that cannot die, and Spirit that ever amongst us abides!
There are way too many extremes – either there is a blitz for every movement one makes, or there is an endless supply of ideologies (like the eyes are larger than the stomach at a banquet) which ultimately lead to uncertainty in knowing the path one’s heart should take. We are here for all people from all walks of life regardless; just come as you are and trust that the Lord’s love will take hold of your life and raise you up – come learn to fly again on wings of prayer!
They that wait upon the Lord shall be renewed with the grace of perseverance; it will be as the soring high of eagles with the might of their wings. They will never tire again in the midst of affliction for the Lord will be their strength!
